AC/DC Rack Mount Air Cooled Power Supply

The Mercury line of industrial supplies from TDI Power is a series of AC/DC and DC/DC modules that are building blocks for reliable power solutions to suit a wide range of applications in the industrial market.

Mercury AC/DC rectifiers and DC/DC modules are available in three different mechanical package sizes and output power levels including 800W, 1200W, 2700W, 3800W, and 4300W. Using a mechanical design that separates the power module from a hard-wired connection shelf assembly, hot swapping of individual units is made simple. This is beneficial when paralleling large numbers of modules for redundancy or if flexibility for expansion is required.

With flexible input voltage ranges, high power, and wide modularity capabilities, the Mercury family is an ideal choice for distributed power architectures and standby battery systems. Through TDI’s 50+ years of experience in power electronics and our proprietary Highly Accelerated Stress Screening (HASS) processes, customers can expect years of performance with high MTBF and low MTTR. Rely on TDI Power for your next project that mandates reliable, accurate, and flexible power.

700W PowerVerter APS 12VDC 120V Inverter/Charger with Auto-Transfer Switching, 1 Outlet

The APS700HF 700W PowerVerter APS 12V DC 120V AC Inverter/Charger is a reliable power source for a variety of small power applications ranging from power tools to computers and sensitive monitoring equipment. With no fumes, fuel, or excess noise, it’s an excellent alternative to generator power.

The DC-to-AC inverter features an automatic line-to-battery transfer switch and integrated charging system that allow it to work as a vehicle inverter, standalone AC power source, or extended-run UPS. It delivers 700W of continuous power, 1050W up to 1.5 seconds, or 1400W of peak power up to 1.1 seconds during equipment startup or cycling. An automatic overload detector, cooling fan, and resettable AC circuit breaker protect the unit from damage.

Designed for easy installation in RVs, over-the-road trucks, fleet vehicles, and conversion vans, the APS700HF converts stored power from any 12V battery or automotive DC source to safe, stable, computer-grade AC power and sends it to a NEMA 5-15R outlet for unlimited runtime. When powered by an external 120V AC source, the unit keeps the user-supplied battery charged via a three-stage 6A charging system while simultaneously delivering AC power to connected equipment.

When used as a UPS, the APS700HF responds to blackouts and brownouts with an automatic, instantaneous transfer to battery-derived AC output. LEDs on the unit indicate AC/DC operational modes, overload status, DC voltage level, shutdown status, and system fault status.

POWERSTAT® Variable Transformers

The flagship voltage control product offered by Superior Electric, POWERSTAT® Variable Transformers provides a simple, rugged method of controlling electrical voltage, current, and power. They take in utility line voltage and provide a continuously adjustable output voltage.

Rugged, and designed for heavy-duty use, POWERSTAT® Variable Transformers provide excellent power regulation with negligible variation in output voltage from no-load to full-load current. POWERSTAT® Variable Transformers are available in both manual and motor-driven options. They provide high current ratings, long life, superior overload capacity, and exceptional resistance to contaminants such as fungus and salt spray.

Applications

  • Voltage correction for undervoltage or overvoltage supplies on 1-, 2-, or 3-phase circuits
  • Producing variable DC voltages from AC sources, usually by control of input voltage to rectifier elements
  • Heater or oven temperature control. Voltage adjustment in addition to usual thermostatic control provides more uniform heating
  • Dimming or controlling incandescent lamp circuits. Life of lamps goes down significantly when operated above rated voltage. Conversely, lamp life increases significantly when operated below rated voltage
  • Varying step-transformer output voltage by control of input voltage
  • Operating motors and other electrical equipment at correct voltages even when supply is above or below normal. Starting characteristics at subnormal voltages and heating at higher-than-normal voltages are critical design factors
  • Speed control of some AC motors and DC motors operation rectified AC circuits. Fan and other motors with low starting torque are good applications
  • Providing voltages not commonly used for tests or operational runs
  • Calibrating electrical equipment and controls
  • Servo motor regulation
