Isobar 12-Outlet Network Server Surge Protector, 15 ft. Cord, 3840 Joules, Diagnostic LEDs, 1U Rack-Mount, Metal Housing

Premium protection for essential network workstations, telecom systems, point-of-sale equipment, and audio/video systems, the IBAR12 Isobar® 12-Outlet Surge Protector features a network-grade surge protection rating of 3840 joules to defend your sensitive electronics against even the strongest surges and spikes. In fact, Tripp Lite will repair or replace any connected equipment damaged by surges, including direct lightning strikes, for up to $25,000 for life (valid in the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico only).

The IBAR12 features 12 total outlets—two on the front and 10 on the rear—which are arranged in two exclusive isolated filter banks that prevent equipment connected to one bank from interfering with equipment connected to the other. These internal barriers also prevent disruptive line noise from causing A/V distortion, computer lock-ups, data errors, and similar problems. Large toroidal chokes, ferrite rod-core inductors, HF/VHF capacitors, and multiple layers of metal oxide varistors remove EMI/RFI interference and prevent system crashes, reboots, and performance problems.

Because residential power outlets have three wires—hot line (H), neutral (N), and ground (G)—the IBAR12 protects all three, covering two protection modes: full normal mode (H-N) and common mode (N-G/H-G).

An integrated 15A circuit breaker protects all outlets and shuts down connected equipment in the event of an overload. A lighted on/off switch with a locking cover provides one-touch control over connected components. Diagnostic LEDs show power, protection, and line fault status at a glance. The IBAR12 mounts to a wall, under a counter, or in 1U of rack space using the included hardware. A 15-foot power cord with a NEMA 5-15P plug reaches distant outlets.

POWERSTAT® Variable Transformers

The flagship voltage control product offered by Superior Electric, POWERSTAT® Variable Transformers provides a simple, rugged method of controlling electrical voltage, current, and power. They take in utility line voltage and provide a continuously adjustable output voltage.

Rugged, and designed for heavy-duty use, POWERSTAT® Variable Transformers provide excellent power regulation with negligible variation in output voltage from no-load to full-load current. POWERSTAT® Variable Transformers are available in both manual and motor-driven options. They provide high current ratings, long life, superior overload capacity, and exceptional resistance to contaminants such as fungus and salt spray.

Applications

  • Voltage correction for undervoltage or overvoltage supplies on 1-, 2-, or 3-phase circuits
  • Producing variable DC voltages from AC sources, usually by control of input voltage to rectifier elements
  • Heater or oven temperature control. Voltage adjustment in addition to usual thermostatic control provides more uniform heating
  • Dimming or controlling incandescent lamp circuits. Life of lamps goes down significantly when operated above rated voltage. Conversely, lamp life increases significantly when operated below rated voltage
  • Varying step-transformer output voltage by control of input voltage
  • Operating motors and other electrical equipment at correct voltages even when supply is above or below normal. Starting characteristics at subnormal voltages and heating at higher-than-normal voltages are critical design factors
  • Speed control of some AC motors and DC motors operation rectified AC circuits. Fan and other motors with low starting torque are good applications
  • Providing voltages not commonly used for tests or operational runs
  • Calibrating electrical equipment and controls
  • Servo motor regulation
